Anna Glynn has immersed herself in Chinese culture since 2006, travelling extensively for residencies, exhibitions, and collaborations with Chinese artists. In 2013, she became the first foreign artist invited to exhibit in the fifty-five-year history of Tsi Ku Chai Gallery, Hong Kong, and served as Artist-in-Residence for a semester in the Department of Visual Studies at Lingnan University.

She was selected as a finalist in the inaugural Australian Arts in Asia Awards in both the Visual Arts and Individual categories for her Hidden Worlds exhibition in Beijing. In 2027, she will return to China as Artist-in-Residence in Suzhou.

Anna’s practice reflects a deeply held philosophy of living close to nature, aligned with the Chinese concept of harmony between heaven and humanity. Nature lies at the heart of her Unbridled, Year of the Horse series, where brush and Xuan paper become both medium and homage—bridging Chinese and Western artistic traditions.

As noted by Kung Man of Tsi Ku Chai Gallery in 2013:
“Anna Glynn’s paintings are tranquil, aesthetic, and poetic, brilliantly integrating Chinese and Western art. Through water and ink, she sees the world.”
